California continues to be a non-stop whirlwind of interesting and fun equestrian action, much of which is covered in this issue. Between the final weeks of the inaugural and fantastic Adequan West Coast Dressage Festival, Horse Expo Pomona and the close of the HITS Coachella eight-week hunter/jumper circuit, we were out and about quite a lot and loving it. Looking forward to this month’s continuation of the same.

This month’s special focus on dressage includes a preview of the Del Mar National Dressage Week, highlighted by the retirement ceremony for Legolas 92. A fun profile on young Luitpold rep Deven Vespi is counterbalanced with a moving tribute to beloved show organizer Lisa Blaufuss, who lost her long battle with breast cancer.

Insurance is another feature focus this issue, with lots to be learned about this important aspect of horse ownership and ranch management.

We hope to see you out and about this month, and please keep your news, photos and story suggestions coming.

Happy Riding!

ADOPT ME!

Red Bucket Equine Rescue Proudly presents Paisley for adoption.

Paisley is a very unique and special 15 hh Sabino Paint mare.

Complete with crystal blue eyes, a fantastic attitude...and a Medicine Hat.

Native Americans believed that paint horses were special, and those with Medicine Hats were said to protect those who rode them!

While horses marked with a Medicine Hat are believed to have special powers, the one thing that we know about Paisley, is that she is special.

This kind mare is gentle and very affectionate with wonderful ground manners.

At approximately 14 years old, Paisley will happily go around with either a Western of English saddle.

She is currently interviewing adopters who will devote themselves to including her as a treasured family member and friend.

Interested potential adopters for Paisley, or other Red Bucket Horses are invited to complete an adoption application at www.redbucketrescue.org.

Information and frequently asked questions are available under the adoption tab.
