We’ve been out and about big time, having fun reporting on this busy season on the hunter/jumper, eventing and dressage circuits. Look for show reports from Copper Meadows, where Tamie Smith won the top three divisions before she and Mai Baum took their hot stuff East to win the CIC3* at the Plantation Fields International Horse Trials. Plus profiles on two circuit favorites: man of many talents, Max Gerdes, and 12-year-old Jordan Crabo, and Californian gone abroad Liz Halliday-Sharp.

On the hunter/jumper side, we have reports from the PCHA, Maclay Regional and USEF Talent Search West finals. Plus features on Mark Watring, Jordyn Hechter and Miela Gross. And it was a huge month for West Coast dressage. We’ve got it covered with highlights from the CDS Junior/Young Rider Champs, the regular CDS Championships and USDF Region 7 finales in Sacramento, and the brand new CDI-W at Epona Farms.

On the fashion front, Cassidy Gallman is right on in her Say Yes To The Dress—or Coat feature, and check out the intriguing answers that arose when we asked six riders to tell us about their new and old favorites in apparel.

For November, our question to you is: “What’s your favorite tack or feed store and why?” This is part of our annual look at tack trends. So, let us know on our Facebook page or get in touch with us directly.

Big thanks to Captured Moment Photography and Kristin Lee Photography for helping make this another terrific issue!

Thanks to everyone who is helping me get my second lymphedema surgery this month. The donations have been adding up, and my bake sales are doing great. My friend Elizabeth Johnson hosted a benefit clinic for dressage horse show manager Lisa Blaufuss and me. The Greater San Diego Hunter/Jumper is doing a fundraiser at their Championship Show Sept. 29-Oct. 3rd. Thank you for all of your help with donations and / or letters to your congressman via www.LymphedemaTreatmentAct.org.

Happy Riding!
