Boarding, training and show facility is blossoming with new offerings.

You could say the Hansen Dam Equestrian Center has been hiding in plain sight. Located within view of the 210 Freeway in Lake View Terrace, the centrally located Los Angeles-area boarding, training and show venue is an equestrian gem that not everybody knows about. That status, however, may not last long as physical upgrades, energized management and marketing and hunter/jumper and new dressage competitions coalesce to capitalize on the property’s many amenities.

Top hunter/jumper trainer brings a bit of the East Coast to West Coast jewel.

Professional rider and hunter/jumper trainer Mickie Sage is living the dream working in a country club setting at the beautiful LuckyJack Farm in Rancho Santa Fe. Last year she found out through some friends that the private facility needed a trainer. Mickie, a certified USHJA trainer, had been running her Mickie Sage Inc. Show Stables in Colorado since 1998. She and her husband, a golf professional for Golf Tec, were ready to say goodbye to cold weather and snowy winters.

Roots & wings rule at hunter/jumper training program.

Sheri Moser and Duncan McIntosh help riders develop roots and horses develop wings. Both are lifelong riders and Sheri earned her rides as a pro, the old school way, by knowing how to take care, from the ground up, from every detail of travel and set up, feeding, cleaning and conditioning of the finest string of Grand Prix Jumpers the West Coast ever had and that won Rob Gage the National Grand Prix Rider of the Year.

Never a dull day at Derby Lane, a small but influential hunter/jumper program in Northern California.

This year is shaping up a little differently for trainer Vanessa Brown, yet constants remain in that she and her clients continue to be a force in the hunter, jumper and equitation ranks and she continues as an active contributor to the sport.
