Silverado Barns
Barns Built to Suit

Silverado Barns, Inc. is a business with close ties to its community and this was demonstrated during the October fires. “We were just glad we could be of service,” says Silverado’s Jeanne Chapman. The barn company’s team used their trucks and trailers to haul horses to safety during the evacuation process. “And we send our good wishes to folks as we all work to get back to normal.”
Located in the sunny coastal town of Oceanside, Silverado Barns ships their barns nationwide. Designed for safety and comfort for both horses and riders, these barns are manufactured to meet or exceed building and safety requirements. And at a price that is both fair and affordable to their clients.
Because Silverado Barns manufactures and sells their own product, purchasing a barn directly saves both time and money. What sets these barns apart is that they manufacture both metal and tongue and groove barns, which allows the team to design and build the right barn for each individual project. The folks at Silverado Barns fully understand the structural, architectural and maintenance differences of each wall type, which allows them to honestly help their clients choose which product best suits their needs.
The metal barn type has a painted embossed metal exterior, painted embossed stall fronts or optional wood stall fronts over the metal and zincalume stall wall interiors that are very easy to clean.
Another option that Silverado Barns is proud to manufacture is often called a T&G barn. Silverado Barns uses only select grade lumber for these tongue and groove barns. The combination of this quality of lumber along with the painted steel frame results in a simply beautiful barn.
Competitively priced and backed by the industry’s strongest warranties, Silverado Barns are chosen by many horse owners. “We understand how important your horses are to you and your family,” says Jeanne. “The sleepless nights in the barn while waiting for your favorite mare to foal; the camaraderie and friendships enjoyed with fellow horsemen; the peaceful solitude of evenings in the barn at the end of yet another wonderful day. We have been viewing the world between the ears of our horses for more than 30 years and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Silverado Barns manufactures Breezeway and Shedrow barns in both the metal and tongue and groove materials. The Breezeway barns can have either the gable roof line, which is a single A-frame roof, or the raised center aisle, which is the two-tiered roof line. Breezeway barns can be designed with many different options and floor plans to include one or more center aisles. The Shedrow barns can have various roof length overhangs in the front of the barn and can be designed in several different floor plans including the popular “L” shaped Shedrow.
Shedrow Barns are a great choice for warmer weather conditions and provide excellent ventilation in a variety of floor plans. Shedrow barns are designed with front over hangs in 8’, 10’ and 12’ lengths and, like all Silverado Barns, they can be designed with tack rooms, offices and grooming bays. Breezeway Barns, the most popular style, offer maximum weather protection for both horse and rider. For customers unsure of what type of materials or style of barn will be right for them, the folks at Silverado Barns encourage people to give them a call to discuss the options.
Speaking From Experience
Jeanne and her sister Joanne Gladstone, sales manager for the business, have been into horses for years. Joanne bred and showed horses for 30 years, so it’s not just a business for them, it’s their lives. “We’re the little backyarders who’ve made a name for ourselves,” says Jeanne. “There’s a lot to learn when you’re first starting the barn process and we help educate people.” She’s pretty confident that their customers are not going to say, “I wish I’d done…” because they specialize in helping customers decide what’s going to work best for them.
Silverado Barns’ business is based upon integrity and product excellence. They aspire to always provide a product that illustrates the company’s goals of structural integrity, timeless beauty, affordability and the utmost in customer satisfaction. They conduct their business with the highest regard for their products, their customers and the equine industry. Their personal experience as consumers in the equine business fosters a comprehensive knowledge of consumer wants and needs.
A background with horses that includes breeding and showing horses for business and pleasure is the foundation of the business. The Silverado Barns team is involved with community work and often volunteers with special needs children and riding in the Mounted Patrol volunteer division of the Sheriff’s Department.
