Last year was a banner year for the riders and horses sponsored by Auburn Laboratories, Inc. “We are very proud of the riders who have been such outstanding spokesmen for our product, APF,” says Auburn Laboratories president, Michael Van Noy, DVM. “We know that to be the best, you have to demand the best. You can’t afford to use just any supplement. It must not only work, it must work better than anything else. We consider it a real honor that so many top riders have chosen to use APF in their daily regimen.”
One of the many riders who consider APF a “must have” supplement, Canadian show jumper, John Pearce led off the 2007 season with spectacular back-to-back wins during the final weeks of the HITS Desert Circuit. On March 4 he rode Archie Bunker to a win in the $75,000 Footing Authority Grand Prix. Pearce then followed that with a win on March 11, aboard Urioso in the $150,000 Cessna Grand Prix. In speaking with Dr. Van Noy, Pearce noted how his horses kept their competitive edge during the six-week competition, instead of falling off as one expects to see. “APF really helps my horses keep their mental and physical sharpness. You can really see it when you’re at the end of a long show and the stress is building up. They handle it better with APF.”
Another of Auburn’s sponsored rider’s, Tiana Coudray, a rising star in eventing, won the FEI World Cup Qualifier (CIC***-W) at Galway Downs aboard King Street. Tiana was first introduced to APF when riding for the AREA VI Young Riders Team, as Auburn Laboratories has been a long time sponsor of the organization. “King Street ran beautifully. He gave me everything so willingly. I know APF helps him feel his best so he can give me his best. And I feel really good that I’m protecting him when he works this hard,” comments Tiana.
Karen O’Connor and the pony, Theodore O’Connor, galloped into the history books in 2007. As the first pony to run Rolex, Theodore was expertly ridden by Karen to a third place finish in the Rolex CCI****. Additionally, Theodore was named Best Conditioned. Not a pair to rest on their laurels, they headed for Brazil to compete in the Pan Am Games, earning an Individual Gold and helping the U.S. win the Team Gold. O’Connor noted, “We’ve been using APF in our horses for years now and know how valuable it is. For all our horses, from the youngest just starting out to the most advanced, it is one of the few supplements we wouldn’t be without.”
New Formula
Auburn Laboratories, Inc. is also not a company to rest on its laurels. In early 2008 they will introduce APF Pro, a unique formula that builds on the original APF, but takes its multiple benefits to the next level by providing superior strength, muscle building and ulcer protection. APF Pro has been in development for some time, but its introduction this year may prove fortuitous with the Association of Racing Commissioners International which recently recommended the restriction of the use of steroids in horse racing. Six states – Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia – have instituted rules following these recommendations, and it is considered highly likely that this trend will continue throughout the horse racing industry.
APF Pro will be a valuable alternative to steroids as it helps the horse build strength and muscle, improves appetite for horses in heavy training, improves immune function and helps protect against stress-induced ulcers.
