Big Horse Feed – Small, Family-Owned Business in the Heart of the Temecula Valley Thriving in These Challenging Times

A unique shopping experience is what every customer enjoys when they visit Big Horse Feed & Mercantile. This equestrian “Gem” was established in 1998 in the heart of the Temecula Valley by the Corona family. Rose Corona, the owner, insists on impeccable customer service and high quality products for her customers throughout the store!  Rose’s motto is: “Never judge a book by its cover!” That could not be more true when you walk through the modest front doors of Big Horse Feed and into a large, impressive equestrian shopping wonderland!

Another “claim to fame” is Big Horse’s motto that certainly rings true when you enter the store: “We’re more than just a feed store!” And they aren’t kidding! Even non-equestrian shoppers will love the housewares, kitchenwares, clothing, throw pillows, blankets, jewelry, wall art, dog beds, quality dog food, and so much more!!  Plus, you’ll love the vibe!

Customers also love all their favorite name brands throughout the store and in all departments. Rose pays attention to detail and has a keen eye for quality and elegance which is apparent throughout the 8,000 sq. ft. superstore!

Big Horse encourages everyone to come in and create a Big Horse Wish List. A Wish List is a personalized list for each customer to choose what he or she would love to have under their tree. This allows friends, family, or even coworkers to come in and pick out the perfect gift in the size, color, or even style the recipient really wants. This makes shopping for friends and family super easy. When you don’t know what to get your friend or family member, you can come in and ask for their Wish List from one of Big Horse’s dedicated staff, and whatever you choose to purchase for them will be wrapped free of charge.

Big Horse greatly encourages equestrian trainers to come in and make a Wish List. It makes it easier for lesson riders to come in and buy presents for the holidays. “We have a lot of customers or their children who take lessons from trainers and would like to give them a gift but have no idea what they want or need. A trainers Wish List solves that problem for both the student and trainer.  It’s a win-win for everyone!”

Big Horse also has knowledgeable and eager staff that is more than happy to help everyone that comes in. Whether you need help knowing what product is right for your four legged friend or finding your ideal shirt size, the Big Horse staff is there to make sure your shopping experience goes as smooth as possible. You get to try on clothing and make sure it fits, and you speak to an expert to answer all your questions. This eliminates the headache of online shopping and returns!

Big Horse is not just the best feed and equestrian gift store in the Temecula Valley, but they also have majestic mascots to boot. The “mane” attractions are the store’s namesakes, the Big Horses: Two retired Belgian Draft Horses. Although the shortest in stature at only 17.2 hands, Jim is the boss. Now 35, he was purchased by Rose as a 5-year-old to be half of her first team of driving horses. Nineteen-hander Melvin is Jim’s buddy and both serve as living billboards for the store and its rural roots and values.
