IEHJA Presents The 2023 Fall Festival at Galway Downs, November 10th-12 Join Us, Show Open to All Competitors!

The IEHJA Fall Festival marks the end of its 2023 show calendar. Competitors, both IEHJA members and non-members alike, should celebrate their show season accomplishments by participating in this fun and challenging hunter/jumper competition. The Fall Festival offers a full complement of classes in the hunter, jumper, and equitation divisions as well as the IEHJA medal finals. Returning to the show schedule this year is the hunter pairs competition where teams of two riders enter the arena together, one rider leads the other over the hunt course with the goal of jumping the last jump in unison. Yes, it’s as challenging as it sounds!

A very competitive Hunter Derby spotlights the Saturday morning show schedule showcasing the elegance, skill and problem solving of the horse and rider combination. The Derby offers 2’6” to 2’9” jump options that require the horse and rider to maintain the measured hunter pace and finding the best line to the height option all the while the riders equitation remains perfect. The aides should be un-noticeable, the horse and rider in perfect harmony. The Hunter Derby is one of our most popular classes and the competition is fierce.

The Fall Festival offers two Hunter Classics, the 2’0 Stirrup and the 2’3” Green Rider. Not to be outdone , Jumpers will compete at the 1.0m height in an exciting Mini Prix while the Junior/Adult Amateurs jump a .80m course. The Showdown Perpetual Medal is also on the schedule. The IEHJA Medal Finals will determine the blue medal winner and placement of riders who have competed in medal classes throughout the show year.
