The 2024 Stallion Collection at Iron Spring Farm

The sons and daughters of the Iron Spring Farm stallions brought home championships and impressive scores in 2023. From the Cum Laude daughter who received a 95 at the KWPN Central Keuring, to the Kaiman son who earned top ribbons at the Pavo Cup Finals, the ISF stallions had a banner year in 2023.

Cum Laude–Champion Offspring

Cum Laude (Apache, Preferent x Pacharel T, Preferent/Prestatie, by Weltmeyer) was successful in the show ring as a young horse, up through the levels to CDI Prix St. Georges and Intermediate I. He’s now a popular sire producing exceptional offspring.

His son Tuxedo ISF was the 2023 USDF Breeders Championship East Coast Foal Champion with an 81.376. The black colt won two classes at Dressage at Devon: the KWPN IBC class with an 83.950 and Colts/Geldings of the Current Year with an 80.425. He was also the Reserve Champion Foal.

At the KWPN-NA Keurings, Tuxedo ISF was named 1st Premium and Keuring High Score. He was Reserve Champion KWPN-NA Top Ten Dressage Foal and the winner of the 2023 KWPN-NA Dressage Foal Futurity.

In Europe, Cum Laude’s daughter Phatilinda Taonga, Star/Provisional Keur earned a 95 on her trot at the KWPN Central Keuring. Another Cum Laude daughter, Kynona, Elite/Sport/Prok, is showing in the Z2/Junior Level with plans to move into the Young Rider division.

Kaiman–Beautiful Black Stallion

The beautiful homozygous black stallion Kaiman (Dark Pleasure x Franciska, Elite/Preferent, by Gribaldi, Elite/Preferent) is currently schooling Prix St. Georges. As a young stallion, he was designated premium at the 2018 KWPN stallion show and finished third overall with 84 total points at the 2019 KWPN stallion performance test in Ermelo. In 2018, he was fourth in the VSN Trophy Finals, a talent spotting competition for three-year-old dressage horses. In 2020, Kaiman was on the Dutch team’s long list for the World Championships for Young Horses.

Kaiman’s oldest offspring, Ohio, is licensed Oldenburg and Hanoverian in Europe. In the final test of the 2023 Pavo Cup, Four-Year-Old division, Ohio received 8.7s for his walk and canter, 8.6s for harmony and total impression and an 8.3 for his trot, which tied him for sixth with 85.8. Combined with his first-round score of 84.6, Ohio finished seventh overall with 170.400.

In North America, Kaiman’s 2023 foals turned heads at the KWPN-NA keurings. Touche’e Mon Amie was named 1st Premium Dressage Foal. Trademark RCF was 1st Premium Hunter Foal, Champion KWPN-NA Top Ten Hunter Foal and the winner of the 2023 KWPN-NA Hunter Foal Futurity.

Tjalbert 460–Exceptional Dressage Friesian

Tjalbert 460 (Beart 411, Sport/Pref x Grevinne fan Lutke Peinjum, Star/Pref./Prest./Crown Jewel, by Ulke 338, Sport) was a dressage champion in the Netherlands before being imported to the United States. He is the sire of high-scoring dressage horses, several stallions selected for the KFPS Stallion Show and dozens of breed show and keuring champions.

In 2023, Tjalbert sired four FHANA Keuring Champions/Reserve Champions at inspections around North America: Margarita ISF, Star, Patricia Z, Navarra fan Blessing Hill, Star, and Nora Z, Star. Tjalbert’s daughter Jannabelle ISF won the IBOP (dressage test) at the FHANA Keuring in Coatesville, PA.
