March 2018 - West Palm Events Update

Hunter/jumper show venue shake-up in Paso Robles & new home for NorCal Finals.

West Palms Events Management is moving its late spring and fall hunter/jumper shows to Twin Rivers Ranch Horse Park in Paso Robles. The well-reviewed competitions were launched at the Paso Robles Horse Park a few years ago. That venue will now host its own rated show, the Rosé In May, May 17-20, the weekend preceding the first WPE show at “Twin,” as the eventers most familiar with the venue call it.

“This exceptional venue on 500 acres of dedicated equestrian land has been undergoing changes to enable the facilitation of high quality hunter/jumper shows,” says the WPE press release. “One of the featured upgrades is a brand new 300’ x 150’ covered arena and final touches will include West Palms GGT-Footing.

“Working on new projects is always interesting and challenging, my goal has been to ‘up the bar’ and delight our customers,” says West Palms chief Dale Harvey. “New beginnings are great and it has been enjoyable to see the excitement and commitment from those who surround me. I wish to thank Twin Rivers Ranch for their camaraderie and look forward to introducing everyone to the new venue in May for the Memorial Day Classic.”

The show dates are as follows: Central California Memorial Day Classic, May 23-27 and Central California Classic, May 30-June 3; then the Central California Fall Classic, Oct. 31-Nov. 4; and the Central California Oak Tree Classic, Nov. 7-11.

West Palms’ Adrienne Karazissis adds, “The team at West Palms Events is very much looking forward to our first event at the new venue. The facility provides a great deal of freedom, from food service to event set up, allowing us to plan with our human and equine client needs in mind. We all are planning ahead for four excellent weeks of horse showing, socializing and relaxation.

“We invite you all to join us on this new adventure and wish to thank you for all the support you all have provided West Palms Events in the past and into the future,” Adrienne continued. “You and your equine partners will be able to enjoy all that the property has to offer: a real ‘showcation’ for all, making for a superb competitive and recreational experience.”

In other news from the event organizer, the NorCal Medal Finals are moving to the “newly improved and upgraded Murieta Equestrian Center” near Sacramento, as part of WPE’s Sacramento International Welcome Week, Sept. 26-30.

“It’s an honor to be able to provide the region’s best equitation riders with a fitting surrounding as they compete to win these coveted medal championship titles,” says Dale. “The NorCal Medal Finals will be a feature event during a week of exceptional horse showing. We look forward to making this event a very special experience for these riders, trainers and their horses.”

The NorCal Hunter Jumper Association offers four distinct medal opportunities: the NorCal Junior Medal 3’6, the NorCal Senior Medal 3’6, the NorCal Pony Medal, and the NorCal 3’ Medal. All four of these medal final events will take place on Saturday and Sunday of the Welcome Week.

“The NorCal Medal Finals is the most prestigious event offered by the NorCal Hunter Jumper Association,” said NorCal president Jennifer Lea Lampton. “We could not be more pleased that this year the finals will be hosted by Sacramento International. We wish all our members the best of luck in qualifying for the medal finals this year, and we look forward to seeing all qualified riders at Sacramento International.”

NorCal members will have access to a special reserved block of hotel rooms at the newly opened Murieta Inn & Spa, located within walking distance of the Murieta Equestrian Center.
