Riders Aged 14 - 25 Who Will Attend 2019 West Palms Events Shows are Encouraged to Apply

West Palms Events is now accepting applications for the fifth annual 2019 Michael Nyuis Scholarships. Applications and more information are available on the website here. The scholarships are offered in memory of West Palms Events' CEO Dale Harvey's nephew, Michael Nyuis, who always helped others whenever he had the chance.

The scholarships are intended to offer support for riders who have the passion and drive to compete, but lack the financial resources to do so consistently throughout the year. Up to four total scholarships will be awarded, including one for a Canadian rider, and recipients will be selected based on their commitment and dedication to the sport.

"The scholarship gave me so much experience at big international shows," said Rachel Long, one of the 2018 Michael Nyuis Scholarship winners. "This year I showed two very new horses, and with the help of the scholarship I was able to get to know them as well as give them more show experience. I also got to meet a ton of professionals in the industry and see all the behind the scenes work that goes into making a show run smoothly."

The Michael Nyuis Scholarships consist of $6500 per rider in credit to be used at 2019 West Palms Events horse shows. Scholarship winners must commit to eight hours of volunteer work for West Palms Events and must blog about their horse show experiences. Competitive young riders age 14 - 25 are encouraged to apply. Applications are due January 15, 2019, and winners will be announced no later than March 1, 2019.
