This month I am particularly struck by and grateful for the work of our California Riding Magazine contributors, “old-timers” and newbies alike. Our longtime Dressage News & Views columnist Nan Meek not only wrote about the Herculean logistics involved in staging a dressage show, she helped to actually stage a CDS show during this issue’s deadline and wrote the “heroic” cover story about the WHOA! Woodside Day Of the Horse in such a way that I am already making plans to experience the October event myself. Who could resist such horsing around?

Horse show mom and amateur rider Alice Chan blew me away with her piece on the Equiband resistance bands that highlights our therapeutic products and services section. So did first-time contributor Amanda Lamb explaining her path to pulsed electro-magnetic field therapy. Langer Equestrian Group’s Brooke Goddard jumped in with a late-deadline request for a piece on Jill Hamilton introducing dementia patients to horses at LEG’s recent Woodside shows and young eventer Bruce Hill said yes to reporting on the Area VI Young Rider camp at Twin Rivers.

I guess my secret is out: It’s a blast reporting on all the inspiring, educational, fun things going on with horses and horse people throughout California. Thanks to all our loyal advertisers who make it possible to bring you this coverage every month. We appreciate you!

Happy riding and reading!!
