In the first of what is likely to become an annual event, Team DKF — Tina and Shae Lovazzano, and Manuel Peña — brought a world-wide view of the P.R.E. horse to their farm in Gilroy on July 7th. It was an inspired event, including ANCCE champions from in-hand presentations of stallions, to a cobra of mares, to the top P.R.E. mare in the country, as well as riding demonstrations of working equitation and traditional dressage, along with dancing horses and singing vaqueros. Flags from Spain, Portugal, and Mexico were presented in recognition of the dedication to the P.R.E. horse shared by this California team.

Noble DAV, Shae Lovazzano’s 6-year-old P.R.E. gray stallion, presented by Manuel Peña: Noble DAV is Qualified, Multi-Champion in ANCCE Morphology, Best Movement and Highest Functionality, and scoring consistently above 70% in the FEI Young Horse division with Shae riding. Manuel, originally from Spain and now a partner in Dancing Kings Farm, is a multi-ANCCE SICAB Champion Presenter.

Leon XXIX, Tina Lovazzano’s PRE gelding, was presented by Manuel Peña. In USEF/USDF/CDS dressage competition, Leon XXIX and Tina have won USPRE High Point Awards on 65.794% at Intermediaire 1 and 72.250% at Intermediaire 1 Freestyle. They graced the cover of The Iberian Horse magazine’s 2018 Year in Review issue.

A working equitation demonstration by trainer Alberto Conde of Portugal, riding Donna Russo’s buckskin Lusitano gelding Goya, gave the audience a glimpse into this rapidly-growing equestrian sport which began with the fieldwork of Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy and has spread worldwide.

This ANCCE chamption “Cobra” of P.R.E. mares is from Yeguada De Los Romero, handled by Chelelo Jiminez. The Cobra, or group of mares shown together, demonstrates the quality and consistency of the breeder’s program and is a source of great pride.

Hebra De Trujillo of Yeguada Del Real Castillo, presented by handler Marvin Rosales of Portugal, is the Champion ANCCE mare of America – an enormous honor.

Dancing Kings Farm, private PRE training and breeding facility in Gilroy, California, is owned by mother-daughter team Tina and Shea Lovazzano, USDF Gold Medalists and Grand Prix riders, along with Manuel Pena, multi-ANCCE SICAB Champion Presenter of P.R.E. horses.
