Please consider donating to my equine supplies registry for horses in need after two devastating hurricanes in Puerto Rico.

In the past month, it seems our earth is going through some growing pains. Watching our surroundings changing around us has been heartbreaking. In the wake of the devastation brought upon Puerto Rico by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, I have started a fundraiser to aid the hundreds of horses on the island who are in dire need of assistance.

When Puerto Rico was hit with back-to-back hurricanes, the island’s power, water and necessities to live became nonexistent. As the island works through the devastation this time, there are so many places in need.
I am Puerto Rican and have been competing under this flag for seven years. Carrying that flag as an eventing competitor at the 2016 Olympic Games is one of my most treasured moments. My friend and teammate Israel Lopez sent these pictures that give a sad idea of the extent of damage the hurricanes caused.

Approximately 700 horses at two different facilities are in immediate need of basic supplies, though there are undoubtedly countless others who are also in need. For some time, horses stood in water and are in need of hoof support and pest control among other needs. Most immediately, our friends in Puerto Rico have reached out to receive basic needs for horses that are also struggling through this time.

To that end, I’ve started a registry of basic items that can be purchased and which I will ship in bulk to Puerto Rico. Needed items range from $1 rolls of vet wrap to $35 halters. Please purchase items off of the registry and have them shipped directly to me. Alternatively, opportunities are available to make a cash donation that will go to the purchase of the items in need, and for the cost of shipment.
