Matt Brown Moves East

Sad to say farewell to Matt Brown and his wife and partner Cecily Clark, who are moving their East West Training Stables from its long time base in Sonoma County’s Petaluma to the East Coast. An alternate for the US eventing team at this month’s Pan Am Games, Matt acknowledges that it’s difficult to leave his loyal clients, but even more difficult to juggle international ambitions and a training business being on the West Coast. They are accomplished and well-liked members of the West Coast eventing scene and will be rooted on from afar. Matt had taken horses east for major events including Fair Hill International and Jersey Fresh these past two years and is now looking for a new base closer to these circuits.

Northern Lights Relocates

Jenny Carbonari relocated her Northern Lights Show Jumping training program to Caballos Del Mar in San Diego County’s Encinitas on June 1. The veteran rider and trainer is thrilled to be based at this impeccably maintained facility that’s owned by the Burtech family. Originally from Montana, Jenny began training in 1994. She was the longtime partner of the late Irish show jumper Damian Gardiner and has operated her jumper-focused training business in San Diego since 2011.
