It’s been over a week since my big lymphedema surgery. Thanks to everyone that helped me get this miraculous surgery. I will be laid up a bit and on limited outings for the first 8 weeks. But I should be back in the saddle soon. My project horse Joey from Falcon Ridge got adopted by Jennifer Hawthorne’s student and I hope they have a great time together.

The show circuits continued to be crazy this month with medal finals galore and big-time jumping competition thanks to the Sacramento & Del Mar legs of the Longines FEI World Cup™ jumping and the spectacular Longines Los Angeles Masters. On the dressage front, we’ve got the scoop on Sarah Lockman’s move to Orange County and what’s new with Pan Am team gold medalist Sabine Schut-Kery, who clinics at W Farm this month. Tamie Smith continues her win streak with a huge victory at Fair Hill back East and while Lauren Billys, Kelly Pugh & Ruth Bley were the three-, two- and one-star stars in Woodside.

Fundraisers (for me & Lisa Blaufass, FalconRidge & Uryadi’s Village) and free horsemanship clinics (by Richard Spooner and Rich Fellers) are highlights of this issue and more great reflections of the great people we serve. A big shout also goes to the Greater San Diego Hunter/Jumper Association that raised over $2,000 for my surgery at their big championship show last month. They held a benefit raffle to win show entries for the big show and Wanda Weldy’s working student won it. Thank you to everyone that bought tickets. I hope to pay it all forward in the near future.

Next month we feature Year End Champions and our Gift Guide. Please give us a call if you would like to promote your business in a future issue.

Happy Riding!
