What’s Happening... California Riding Magazine Event Calendar

George Morris Clinic: Dec. 11-13 in Somis

This may be one of the last times to see a George Morris clinic in person. The master of the American Forward Riding system is doing great, but reportedly will be taking a sabbatical soon. Riding spots are likely full, but auditing is a great way to learn, no matter your riding level, experience or discipline. Group rates are available and reservations are recommended for auditors.

Morris will coach three sessions a day: for jumpers at 4’ and above, Advanced Riders at 3’9” and for equitation at 3’6”.

The clinic will be held at Whitethorne Ranch in Somis, where Karen Healey has based her business until deciding to shutter the training program on Dec. 1. (see Flying Changes, page 70.) Bernie Traurig Clinic: Jan 2-3 in San Diego

Bernie Traurig has a remarkably long resume of jumping, dressage and eventing accomplishments. In recent years, he has spread his knowledge and experience, along with that of many others’, far and wide through www.EquestrianCoach.com. On Jan. 2-3, he’ll be offering his expertise directly to Southern California riders during a clinic at Seabreeze Farms Equestrian Center in the Del Mar area. Four divisions are arranged by fence height, starting at 2’3” to 2’6” and up to a 4’ division.

Space is limited and reservations are required. Call Kurt Grube at 619-368-5600 for more information.
