Horse Heritage Festival & Ride & Stride: Sunday, Oct. 16 in San Marcos

Pony rides, a petting corral, pumpkin patches, crafts and frontier games are all part of the Twin Oaks Valley Equestrian Association’s annual event benefiting the Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos, where it takes place. The day’s demonstrations include Jeffrey Hedgecock with his jousting and skill-at-arms activities; trick training with Jody Childs and the Poway Valley Vaulters, plus other horse-oriented activities.

The three-mile Ride & Stride welcomes mounted and unmounted participants for a walk or trot through the area’s peaceful trail system, including a poker game to benefit the park. Dogs welcome!
